Core Natural Resources owns and operates 11 mines, including 8 longwalls. Within our operating footprint, our High CV thermal and metallurgical coal offerings represent some of the highest-quality coals in the world. Our product portfolio encompasses Low-Vol, High-Vol A, High Vol-B, Crossover, High Calorific Value Thermal, and PRB coals. Through ownership of two strategic export terminals on the U.S. Eastern Seaboard, Core is a leading exporter of coal products serving multiple emerging seaborne markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coal Types<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Metallurgical Coals<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Core Natural Resources mines and markets a broad assortment of high-quality carbon-based products for industrial metallurgical applications, primarily steel production. We are committed to working with our customers to deliver exceptional value, creative solutions, consistent product quality, and first-rate customer service. Through our 5 metallurgical mines, we offer an expansive product portfolio, with complementary qualities for blending capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are the leading supplier of premium High-Vol A products globally through Leer and Leer South longwall mines. Additionally, Core offers High-Vol B products through the Mountain Laurel mine. To complete our suite of metallurgical offerings, our Beckley and Itmann mines produce premium Low-Vol coals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

High Calorific Value Thermal Coals<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Core High CV thermal coals are some of the highest-quality products offered globally. The Pennsylvania Mining Complex (PAMC) is one of the largest, most efficient coal mining complexes in North America, offering a High CV thermal product that can be used in power generation, industrial applications, or sold to the crossover metallurgical market to assist in steel production.  The PAMC includes five longwalls at Bailey, Enlow Fork, and Harvey feeding one centralized preparation plant. In addition to PAMC, the West Elk mine utilizes longwall operations to produce High CV thermal coal in Colorado. Our High CV thermal coal provides blending capabilities to suit each customer\u2019s unique specifications and applications in a multitude of industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PRB Coals<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Core is a leading producer of sub-bituminous, Powder River Basin (PRB) thermal coal in Wyoming. Core operates the world-recognized Black Thunder mine and also the Coal Creek mine. The end-use of our PRB coals is the power generation market.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
